Since I spend so much time out in the field with my job I thought it might be nice to post a few pictures. I work for a directional drilling company as a MWD Field Supervisor. MWD (measure while drilling) allows the directional drillers to see how much angle and which direction the drilling assembly has given us. We also provide information about the formation we're currently drilling in to on-site geologists who then tell us to steer the bit up or down to follow the target formation. North Dakota is currently enjoying an Oil Boom and I'm lucky enough to work within a few hours of my front door. This is great because when everything is working good I can sneak away in the evenings and meet my wife and kids in Dickinson, ND. It's been a great job so far and I enjoy it more than working as a roughneck but the time away from home gets to be too much some times. So far this year I've worked just over 150 days in the field and I'm sure I'll easily reach 300 + days by the end of the year. It's alot but we've got a few plans for the future that we have to keep in front of us and this job is allowing us to continue forward with those plans.
